Drive-thru Dinner Fundraiser
In March/April of each year, the band serves up a delicious Drive-Thru Dinner, featuring a Chicken or Pork Chop meal from Nelson’s Catering. The meal includes mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans, roll & butter, and dessert.
Tickets are approximately $10/meal and are purchased from an LCHS Band student (or through the school) 2-4 weeks before the actual Drive-Thru. On that day, customers simply drive into the Student (south) parking lot between 4:30 and 6:30 pm, present their tickets to the waiting students, and drive off with a great meal.
Students and Parents sell the tickets, keeping the stapled stub of the ticket and writing the student’s name and the customer’s name on it. Place the stapled stubs and money in the lockbox in the band room by the assigned deadline. There is usually a prize for the students who sold the most tickets!
Each year, one or more chairpeople are needed to organize the event. On the day of the Drive-thru, volunteers set up, serve the meals, and clean up. Also, donations of individually-wrapped desserts are needed.
